Behind Owen D. Young school in Van Hornesville, NY is a delightful nature trail. The trail runs about a mile and a quarter along the Otsquago Creek. The ruined remains of 18th century mills, powered by the running water, lie along the creek. Spectacular waterfalls can be seen from the trail.

Ancient limestone caves are a feature of the trail. Children of all ages love exploring those caverns. By the caves is a side trail that leads to the creek along rapids.

Local Amish cool off in the creek in hot summer days. Summer provides a canopy of green overhead. Brightly colored fall foliage makes the Osquago Creek trail a popular place to hike in autumn.
